High horse power four cylinders can’t sustainably do the same job as a larger six pot of similar HP. Tell me I’m wrong

Nice to see the Series 1 keeping up with the front one.
But you might have confused everybody on this thread if that is a TD5!

On top of which it is “Boys” land and it must have been photoshopped. Otherwise where has all the blue smoke gone?
Good point, well presented, it may be that someones slipped a V8 into the one series hence the lack of blue smoke, the 90 clearly isn't 300 TDI due to lack of black smoke!!

6150r is a gutless tractor, 716, 6155r or 6930 would be better

paying the extra 3-4k is a no-brainer, especially when you include the resale of a 6 cyl. Would you rather have an engine that is set to its max producing 170hp (to the detriment of it's torque curve and power bands) or one that is set at 170hp but could easily produce 220hp? The only time it might not be worth it would be on a lease tractor, which i guess lots are nowadays.
Lots of spurious assumptions made right there.

Since this is a still image, everything is probably stopped, including the engines. There's no way a Series1 would not smoke, whether a petrol or diesel.

How comes with most brands going for higher horse power 4 cylinders new Holland are now making ‘smaller’ 6 cylinder tractors in the T6 range
Because there is a demand for them. id imagine this is helped by an awful lot of t6 being long term purchases rather than getting traded in every few years, compared to most other brand at least. T6030's, TS115's and 7840's round here with 12000-18000hrs only just now getting joined by new t6's

How come you hear no crying about big horse power being extracted from the likes of a Fendt 939?

They are 51hp per litre. That's exactly the same as 250hp from a 4.9 SISU.

If such a model appeared tomorrow many would lose their $hit at the idea of it.

A heavy 6 cylinder that’s 130 at the flywheel just sounds silly nowadays
Oooh! Can’t agree there, I’m afraid.

If they sound as good and can still make you feel like million dollars driving them when they look like this after 25 years of work, I’ll continue to be hooked

Yea, a 5 ton tractor, on narrow tyres, And it’s probably doing 140-150 at the shaft. That’s as much as a lower hp T7 now.

Nothing from back then was anything like what it should have been.

t6.160 and t6.180 are exactly the same size as the 4 cylinder equivalent. Gone are the days of a ts115 being a foot or so longer than a ts110.

where as a T6 160 will probably be nearer 110hp at the shaft
