High hour fendt 400 series

Hi!
New to the forum so apologies if a similar thread already exists.

I've been looking for a replacement for my McCormick cx 105 due to expansion and I've been offered a 2002 fendt 411 with 7000hrs, now I'm tempted by this as with my budget, for lower hours I would be looking at much lower spec, less capable tractors.
My only issue is the hours, this would be the main machine and down time isn't something I can afford as it will be handling all cultivation and silage making as well as general feeding and loader duties.
Are they reliable above 5000hrs? Is the vario box going to give trouble?
Any help much appreciated.
(Sorry for the lengthy post)

Do you know the history of the tractor? You will have less chance the vario giving any problems on the smaller Fendts, 400 & 500 series would tend to do less heavy lugging than the bigger 180 hp plus tractors. If the 411 was owner operated, & the general look of the tractor is clean, I would jump all over it. I think that model was before TMS, not sure how much history you can receive on lap top etc.(y)

Cheers for the reply!
the tractor has been owner operated since new, it does look very tidy, and they're not the sort to abuse their kit. No TMS you're right.
The only thing I was concerned with was the vario.

I think I will go for another look, I know he is only selling himself as dealer offered him silly money against his new one.

Have a 412 with 8000 hours on it, got it with 6000 on it, no vario bother yet other than a sensor but that's not to say it won't blow tomorrow! It's a good enough tractor other than the fuel tank being a bit small, suppose it all depends on condition and what he's looking for it, I would have thought around the 20k mark depending on condition. As icanshootwell says knowing the history is a benefit.

I have a 2006 MF 7480 with I'd wager the same gearbox. Its done 11600hrs with no bother. If oddities happen, peel the conduit back and look at the wiring. The 7480, and a s/h 7495 with I think the same vario as an 800 series fendt that we had for a few years both had a gearbox wiring loom. c£300 + fitting iirc.
Service the thing on time too.

What age is the Fendt your looking at? Fendts are good but once they start getting jiggly electrical problems and sensors that won't shut up beeping at you they can get a bit tiresome!! lol

Do you have a loader on yours? Do you like the tractor?
This one is a very smart looking tractor, he's asking 24k with a chilton/mx t12 loader, front links and pto.

Yea have a loader on it but it wouldn't be used that often, yea it's a good enough tractor main gripes are the size of the diesel tank and its a bit bouncy being 50k and short but if the loader is on it it smooths the ride quality out a lot with it being suspended. Heavy work would empty the tank in about 8 hours.

Update: had the tractor on trial for drilling, about 3 acres in she started making a grinding noise from the rear right hand side, 30 seconds later she stopped and refused to move again.. currently in the dealers workshop.
A stroke of bad luck I know, but enough to put me off the tractor.
Ended up buying the jd 6530 premium with mx u10 loader that the dealer provided as a replacement..
thanks anyway for all the info!
