Just had a lovely letter from the RPA saying that they have finished their checks for 2017 and 2018 and I have to pay back almost £1000. No details, just that they overpaid me. Even when the money is in the bank it’s not always yours.

Just had a lovely letter from the RPA saying that they have finished their checks for 2017 and 2018 and I have to pay back almost £1000. No details, just that they overpaid me. Even when the money is in the bank it’s not always yours.

Ask for all the details and appeal it. They will just take the £1k off your next payment but it is worth fighting if they cannot give you all the details as to why you were over paid.
There are thousands of appeals I am told, the majority have been where there were mapping changes after the agreement was set up.

Yes you’re right I should do. They were two or three years behind with payments, people were complaining and they made an ‘on account’ payment last year. I think this is the balancing up from that, but it’s a bit of a blow.
