Horsch Terrano FX anyone?

Anyone using the above?
Will it go in very hard ground?
If so does it just pull up lumps?
Does it do a good job of breaking lumps and leave it level?
And finally does it do a good job of mixing the trash?
Cheers

Good bit of kit, but I only use mine with the 40mm narrow points for deep work at 12". The full length tungsten tile version is very pricey, but they last a lot longer than the tungsten tipped version.
I used the wide and shallow working sweeps that came with it for the first field, but they've been on the shelf ever since. They just weren't what I was after, which was a deep rip to aerate the soil to depth. It's never not penetrated dry soil, the point pressure on the ground with the 40mm narrow point will be astronomical; and it doesn't leave lumps on my soil, but it does bring whin stones to the surface.
The discs are only for levelling after the legs.
The DD roller works well in consolidating the tilth and breaking up moist lumps, but it's seriously heavy and a long way back, you'll need a decent front weight.
The alternative is the flexi spring roller (or whatever it's called) but the DD is the daddy for working and weather-proofing heavier ground.
And yes, it mixes trash very well. I added the straw harrow from the options list, but I'm not convinced it brings a lot to the party.

Good bit of kit but in the wrong hands or the wrong conditions it’s easy to make a mess of it. The terrano MT is much more versatile and more idiot proof.

It depends how heavy your land is really, we never get on particularly well with tines only.

Make a mess!
In what way?
Why doesn't it work in heavy ground?

We found if it’s abit chewy on top and you sink the legs in to try and lift some compaction out you end up bringing up clods too big for the rear roll to sort out. I can imagine on slightly more forgiving land or in better conditions this not being an issue, but we didn’t want a fair weather cultivator so went to a MT.

There’s no doubting though if your going to follow over it with a set of discs or secondary cultivations as a matter of course it would be a good tool.
