How big is your working dog's pen?

Try spending your day chained or in a pen and see how you get on.
What a pathetic response.

As I've already said they go in a pen to protect them, they get good regular exercise and work.

It'll be on my head if 1 of the dogs ended up on either the motorway or busy B road, where do I stand legally then if an accident is caused? Criminal negligence?

Pigs are kept in yards, sheep are kept behind fences and dogs are kept in pens on this farm

I agree. On most farms dogs have to be chained or caged.

Dogs like rest, sleeping, lying in the sun for hours on end and they can do that perfectly well on a chain.

(we've always chained. And shut in a loose box for thunderstorms / fireworks /on heat)

Small shed 16 x 10 ft here with a dog flap. Small area around that fenced off securely. That’s where they sleep and are penned when we are not around. Other than that they are with me everywhere I go.
Have a young collie, who this morning for the first time managed to round up 12 suckler cows and their calves, and shunt them into the yard all night himself. I just stood back. I’m bloody chuffed. That dog deserves a five star living quarters.....

My old dog was in house while we were having dinner. My dad said there was 3 bullocks got out and gone up moor and we'd have to get them in after dinner. Went out and started on with something turned round and saw dog fetching three bullocks down moor thought I was in for a bollocking for forgetting turned round and looked in yard and my dad was walking across yard doing something. Ran up to turn bullocks into yard and they turned and broke away, dog gave me a right dirty look.

That's a smart dog , you won't get to many of them in a life time.
