How dealers prioritise repairs?

Baler slip clutch needs new pawls to be able to carry on harvest. (n)

Taken it to our local Welgar agent as was and it’s taken a week to get bits. (n)

Currently they are too busy to repair it as they are pre harvest servicing a big square baler which takes lots of man hours however could been done by the owner any time over the winter.

Am I being unreasonable in getting hacked off because they can’t find an hour to fit the new parts in the slip clutch. :banghead:

I’ve got a lot of grass down ready to bale.

I haven’t shouted at him yet....but it’s making me think whether I buy any new machines from there in the future. :cautious:

Are you confident you can fit the new parts yourself?
If they are at the dealership, just tell them you'll take the parts away, and get someone more interested to do the work?

Fit it yerself and stop whinging.

Need a press to fit the parts which we have not got on farm.

I tackle most things which can be fixed with a spanner.......or a hammer.:ROFLMAO:

Ring up the DP and just tell him whats the situation and that if it can't be repaired straight away you'll go elsewhere in the future. Balls in their court then.

Do you ever take things to the repair place in bryn s.m yale? if its urgent they will do it straight away. I took my mower in last year at 12.30pm when ine of the discs flew off and sheared the bolts holding it in olace flush so i couldnt get at them. One of the men there dropped what he was doing and did it straight away during his dinner hour for me while i stayed and helped. I was mowing again in 2 hours (y) there are some exellent people there and they can get parts for anything if they dont already have them in stock. I need to go there his morning for a chain for the baler.
Theyre not that far from you. You could give them a ring if they still havent done it today.

That’s a good idea.

I hadn’t thought of the smithy.

I’ll be going there in the future. (y)

If its a round baler cam clutch, its not that difficult and you don't really need a press,a big jubilee clip will hold them in enough for re assembly.Shouldnt really be tweaking those springs either,a so called Welger dealer did that to one of mine years ago, didnt end well...If its been slipping for a while you might have worn the casing as well.

Yeah, the casing is possibly worn but won’t know until it’s taken apart.

I’m feeling I’d have been better getting a complete new slip clutch from a generic manufacturer than piddling around getting this one fixed which will not be cheap.

Well theres lots of reasons!

Do they owe me money?
Do they pay on time without chasing?
Is there machine clean?
Is it in a suitable area to be worked on?
Do they make an effort to look after machine or treat it like sh1t?
Do I have some other job on the go that's earning me more money?
Do they spend regularly or once a year?
Do they make coffee! Plus Cake is a major bonus!:ROFLMAO:

We always pay bills ASAP.

Picked the pto up and offered to pay but invoice not ready.

Got home, tried shaft, still clacking as housing is too worn so back tomorrow to have it redone with a second hand housing and a couple of hundred quid extra lighter in the pocket!
