On it, 17% moisture, straight into the dryer, The Dominator is making stately progress.

In the middle.
I think for a change we have missed most of the heavy showers. Grabbed the last of the osr at between 10-11%. Just about to have an early night and looked at the wet barley straw that has been down over a week and found it drying like mad in the sun and wind so just finished moving that with the hope of baling before the rain tomorrow.

Its got to the stage of beyond viable repair, fingers crossed the insurance company will write it off next week, will be quicker than trying to get it repaired :(

Wirings been chewed quite a bit, done the repairs, but not everything works as it should, particularly the stop foot pedal on the floor of the cab to stop the header, big bit of metal got into the header, round the auger and started up the trunk, didn't end well

Was feeling smug this afternoon when a thunderstorm passed both to the north and south of us. Thought if we missed the showers today the winter oats might go tomorrow. Heavy, although brief shower now passed through. Not so smug now. They're a seed crop so will be a slow process drying at low temperatures.

Anyway I do need to apologise for this weather. Talking to a non farming friend pre harvest I said that most seasons we can cut barley, OSR and oats without drying. It's the wheat where we usually end up drying. Sorry for jinxing it.

You didn't have the shower we had at 3.30 then! Glad you are going. Can the drier almost keep up with the 98?

Caught the edge of it as we finished winter linseed. Went and spent a couple of ours on chicken jobs and got stuck into the wheat about 5 ish till 9.30.

Dryer won't keep up with combine as I don't generally unload it hot, get the feeling it would take pedestals months to pull wheat down from 100f?

Guess the dryer can do about 6t/hr of 17-18% wheat, whilst the mighty Dommy with its new rasp bars and concave is probably doing about 10-12t/hr?
