How hot do you run your dryer?

As the title suggests I’m after some advice. Been running a Law Dennis 20t continuous grain fryer for a few years now. It’s great but I can never remember year on year the temperature setting precisely to get the best out of it. Usually I refer to the manual but I’ve had a bit of a mishap with that and it is no more!
So how hot to do you run your burner on your continuous flow grain dryer on feed wheat?

Depends how wet the grain is.
According to the Law Denis manual, it's max 90 degrees for feed wheat and 75 for seed. You won't get a lot of drying done at those temps, although fine if grain is 17% and you just want to take 2% out. As long as grain temp monitor is set at 52 degrees then you won't over-do it, would be my advice.

Thanks, the majority is 17% with the wettest being 19%. I did the feed barley at 95 degrees, which I did think was a bit keen but flew through without a problem.

No more than 70 oC for malting barley or osr here. 80 oC for milling wheat or seed. 120 oC for feed barley & feed wheat. All hot air temperatures. Exhaust temperatures kept under 45 oC & fortunately we have good differential controlled cooling facilities in the bins & on floors with pedestals.

Thanks that is just what I’m looking for! I would say we have the same machine. We did also have trouble with the burner a few years back and ended up replacing the burner control panel.

This is the current state of my version of that page! View attachment 828368
Mine too!
At least now I will be able to tell the Farm assurance inspector a copy is available online.

I believe they don’t exist anymore. I think Chief are the ones to go to now regarding the Law Denis. I’ll give them a ring if I need any more info. Now I’ve got that page I should be ok. I know the dryer pretty well otherwise.

Been running it at 105 degrees all day and seems to be going through at a decent pace. Will try it a bit hotter when I’ve got some more to do, speed things up a bit more.
