I submitted an application for SFI on 21 Sept, but it is still saying "checking application"
How long are they taking for others? Maybe they need to work a 6 day week?

Crikey, something wrong there.
I submitted an application in the middle of November got a phone call on the 30th November to say sign it before midnight for a Dec 1st start date which I did and actually had 1st payment yesterday!
Ring helpline I would.

Just seen a message to say if you have not completed the application by the end of December all information will be wiped and you will need to start again in January.
Not a problem as I was not intending to even look at it until then anyway!!

Definitely chase.
Something wrong there.

Mine was definitely no more than two weeks.
Probably more like a few days from submitting to offer being made.
Accepted, December 1st start date, first payment due shortly.

Not sure when the second one is coming though.

my agent told me there quarterly.
It must be right as the payment i got is exactly a 1/4 of the full amount

mySFI23 application went in on 19 september, 2023 like you, still in "awaiting checking."
The reason is I was in SFI22 and the RPA wanted me to run it until end march 2024 before joining SFI23.
they have now written saying I can end sfi22 on 31/12/23 and join sfi23 on 1 january 2024.
However no paper work received to make this happen and very few RPA working days left.
Not a great way to enthuse new SFI entrants
.

Mine in and accepted within three days. Also they informed me may be a delay on paying out last 22 payment but it won't affect the 1st Jan start for 23. As it's their problem.

Id say its pretty much going to be quarterly if that helps.
if thats the case means 4 payment before the first year is up nov 1 agreement first payment was 12th nov cant see that happening ,you never know but most welcome 4 payments before harvest 5 if you include dec 23 bps plus whatever bps is going to be in august and nobody knows what £that is, seems ok to me, there must be a catch !!

I assumed they would email when the offer was ready.

Just logged on to check Cs payment update, thought I'd check sfi while I'm here. They've offered us the scheme, but no email or any other communication, I had to log in to check!!

Check what email it's possible to have gone to

Mine, in the pilot, wouldn't come direct to me even though it was on the application and was sent from it.
It'd only go to whatever the original registered email was.
So check your farm details.

I hunted around, it was in the junk and just said you have a new message from the rpa.

To be fair to the email system, if looked like junk to me too!!
