he must of been on Irish 48 hour days to do thatWith a Ferguson 3 furrow plough , dad thought 25 acres a day in good going but i can't see it
I think every mile would cover just over 3 acres, 3x 12 inchIf the field was 25 miles long it should be possible to plough the whole 250 acre in a day
68.2 miles to cover itI think every mile would cover just over 3 acres, 3x 12 inch
So realistically 250 acres would be a months workif you dropped the 3furrow fergie plough in the ground, and drove in a straight line, and none stop for 16 1/2 hours ay a speed of 4.25 mph you would plough 25 acre, and be really bursting for a pi55s
165 hours just ploughing in a straight line no turning or lifting out that would be extra,So realistically 250 acres would be a months work
You need to divide it the other way, a mile at a yard wide is just over 1/3 of an acre!I think every mile would cover just over 3 acres, 3x 12 inch
Somehow it didn't seem right, but i wasn't going to argue with the calculaterYou need to divide it the other way, a mile at a yard wide is just over 1/3 of an acre!
Miles must be longer this side of the waterI was working on 10 inch furrows but I'm not so sure now. Having rechecked my maths I'm getting 825 miles
Press the 1/x button, it'll get you where you need to be!Somehow it didn't seem right, but i wasn't going to argue with the calculater
So at 4.5 mph an acre and a half an hourYou need to divide it the other way, a mile at a yard wide is just over 1/3 of an acre!
