What a terribly frightening article, I wonder if there these forever chemicals in our UK sewage cake too? On the off chance that there are, I would not consider applying them here.

Once land is contaminated, with chemicals that last forever, I guess the only answer then is plant with trees. The companies that did the damage will be long gone, and the fool who applied them to his land without thinking will have to pay the price.

Huge implications there,,,but what is the answer to our never ending waste problem? We seem to create more and more waste of all types every year, in fact I think recycling has possibly created even more as people hide behind
“ it’s ok it’s all recyclable” meaning no guilt attached to using even more plastics etc
Glass recycling is going to be the next big disaster as it’s not reusing the already made glass bottle instead we break it all up and segregate it then use huge amounts of gas to melt and remanufacture the same bottles that we just crushed,,,,,ridiculous system

Isn't this typical of the so called "Environmentalists" ?

We have the EA, NE etc all employed by HMG happily allowing raw sewage dumped into rivers & sold as fertiliser to UK farms.

Where is the so called "Sustainability" ethics demanded by those pushing the Climate Change narrative ?

I expect people to DO what they say, to me the failure to do what you say means you are literally mad. Environmentalists seem to be only to happy to tell other people what to do whilst taking lots of money but do very little if not cause a lot of problems.

We need a better system & IMHO the so called environmentalists need throwing in the bin, they keep making a right mess.

Will eventually be put through AD plant, then incinerated. Will then be sold as a top quality Phosphate fertiliser. Any thoughts of getting paid for accepting it will but be distant memories. Oh for the days when it was free to a good home.

I think if incinerated, it may still contain the forever chemicals, I would hope our authorities would not allow that to happen.

I was under the impression the bulk of collected glass is smashed up and put into road making aggregate? I.e. mixed with tar to make tarmac?

The thing is these forever chemicals are in everything now.
You have to actively search out a pan without it.
I've gone back to cast iron frying pans without the non stick coating.
