Changing from 600 65 38 to 580 70 38 with appropriate fronts.

How much will it lift the tractor? Want to make sure its not a lot as it needs to be an emergency backup feeder wagon tractor with not much roof clearance. Other than this issue I'm sold on the change as its for ploughing, can do fert in cereals later in the year as it will be on the narrowest tyres etc and I have tractors on 650 42s for top work

That's an 18.4 equivalent going to a 20.8, which is 2.4" wider and 2" more sidewall (85% of 2.4"). So, very much in theory, 2" higher. Brand, wear, pressure all factors too.

Looking the other way, 65% of 600 is only 16mm less than 70% of 580 --> all you can say is an inch or 2 higher.

Slightly related, am I likely to get away with putting 520/70s on the same rims as 18.4 38s?

Should do, mine was in 15” wheels would originally had 18.4 now on 20.8s and they’re fine mightnt run to lowest pressure just and tyre manufactures warranty probably won’t cover them but who’s ever does?
