How to clean a bulk tank

Does anyone have a good technique for safely cleaning the outside of a bulk tank?

Arla tankers are autosample so no one climbs the ladder very often any more. I did today and was quite embarrassed by the state of the top.

You can't reach the middle from a ladder and the last time I threw a bucket of water over the top it cost me £500 for a new paddle motor.

Car cleaning brush like this and spray on some tfr or something. Or move it outside. Ours gets a wash every time it rains.

Direct sunlight on the tank from those roof lights will be responsible for any green algae growing on your bulk tank as green algae will not grow where there’s no sunlight

Never thought to try tfr on it. There's a fabdec tank next to it that's easy to keep clean but the ROKA always looks dirty.

Somebody on here has a stainless pipe with small holes drilled in it suspended above the tank. They had a valve that allowed the dumped parlour wash water to run to waste all over the outside of the tank / tank room floor each day. It looked immaculate and no effort
Good idea. I’ve a spare valve we used to divert wash water to a footbath, I’ll put it in to do as you say. (y)
