Ok so iv discovered iv rats living in the 2 beams going across the parlour, got chewed pipes on my feeders, the beams are only mabe an inch n half from the wall so access is limited to get at them and removing them is a fair task as thats what holds the whole stall work etc up. How would i make them rodent proof. Tried to upload a pic but it wont let me but il try again soon

Go to McElderry's (they seem to be the only place that still keeps this stuff) and get a bucket of Neosorexa (only posion worth a toot) loose grain packets and leave them about the area (open them slightly contrary to instructions) If you keep the place well baited you will have no bother.

The buggers wont eat bait in the parlour, theres always a bit of nuts lying in a feeder that a cow hasnt red up. We get crushed grain with sweetner in it that theyl eat up good else where as i had a bunch in a calf pen and they ate a full chineese dish each night for 3 nights n no more bother with them there. Wev got couple of kittens that if they had a few months should keep it right this winter

When we got a pest control firm to come because we were struggling to get rid, they tipped poison all over the place, had a funnel with a flexy pipe and tipped poison down any holes they found,it worked and they cleared them out.

cats, try rehoming charities. prevention more so though. might take a while to clear a current problem especially in hard to reach areas. we got 3 after going a few months without, not the best year to have no rodent strategy! they're getting on top of them now, see carcases everywhere. Best not to have poison down at same time
