Who and where in chesterfield? (Just being nosey)I've got a 23 ton container 10 foot 8 inch wide by 32 foot long to move from Chesterfield to CUmbria.
Because it is wider than a standard container I am told that a double hiab truck won't handle it, even dropped to the ground right next to the wagon.
I don't really want to hire a crane if I can due to the cost (quoted over a grand a day) , does anyone know of a wagon that could handle this load or have any good ideas?
The container contains a a large diesel generator and is worth quite a lot of money so dropping the clutch and setting her onto tyres is out!
that will only be able to lift the box cant take it down road be over weight ,,, have in the past used these to lift and then back another skeleton trailer under for transport ,,,,,,,, try hansard haulage in lincs they go all over and sure they can hiab that weight
a 13 tonne container at 32 foot long will take a blood big hiab to lift it, needs to lift 13 tonne at 5 meters span minimum, that would be something like a 100 tonne / meter hiab don't think they would be plentiful at that size, that's if you could find one, that will only be able to lift the box cant take it down road be over weight ,,, have in the past used these to lift and then back another skeleton trailer under for transport ,,,,,,,, try hansard haulage in lincs they go all over and sure they can hiab that weight
It says on video 36 ton I didn't know about being 10 ft 6 wide. container with genny is 23 ton so should be ok weight wisethat will only be able to lift the box cant take it down road be over weight ,,, have in the past used these to lift and then back another skeleton trailer under for transport ,,,,,,,, try hansard haulage in lincs they go all over and sure they can hiab that weight
Well you say that.............5 loadalls each side, all lift together and reverse trailer under, simple
It would take a big digger to lift 11.5 tonWell you say that.............
The problem I have is that I am placing the genny on a site about 100m into a field.
I have dug out the access track and approx site for the machine but to dig out and stone an area to allow artic entrance/turning and an area for a crane to stand on could well spiral to , well far more than I thought anyway, bound to be 5k, maybe 10?
I did wonder about a flat to a crane then a lad nearby has a fastrac and plant trailer rated for 30 ton.
It will access the site far more easily than a wagon will and would be easier to tow if it came to that.
His trailer is low to the ground so lift the back of the container off the trailer slightly andpull back onto jacks or earth , then lift front of container and pull out.
Lifting one half at a time between 2 diggers is approx 11.5 ton between them which I would have thought they might manage?
The other option is to buy an old flat bed or low loader and leave the thing on it?
1400kva, STOR project.Just out of interest, what size Kva is the generator, and what use so remote, ?

Full RAMS?Should be enough money in the job, and do it properly then,
Rather than cut costs and corners, surely end client has full RAMS in position.
