Hyd beavertail lowloader

Going to buy a HYD beavertail lowloader, who apart from Kane and Stewart make them, anyone running one and how do they find them, will be used mainly for shifting 14t digger, telehandler and potato boxes.
Not sure they are all that suitable for shifting excavators, steep ramps and normally steel floors are not ideal maybe a beavertail with hyd cheese wedge would be worth a look

Kane are wood floor standard Watkins is an option.
Local lads have a kane for shifting their 14t digger and get on fine with it.
There's no right and wrong personally I'd rather have the hydraulic beaver tail as an all rounder over a conventional low loader with a wedge but someone else would want the other way

Run a Hyd beavertail trailer here, very capable trailer. Used for general farm work and 15 ton digger shifts. Much more versatile than beavertail for general work as no ramps in the way and better ground clearance but yes steeper ramp angle than some for digger loading but perfectly manageable. Wouldn't entertain any type of digger shifting trailer without wooden floor, much safer for loading and transport. If using as a multipurpose trailer mini super singles are also a must instead of twin wheels.

Picked up a second hand 30ft Kane tri at reasonable money compared to new . Does all the jobs you mentioned with ease. Yes load angle is a little steeper than a low loader but not enough to be a issue - had 1.5 - 15t machines on it

I don't suppose you know of a 26ft one for sale seeing as you seem to be lucky enough to find that one ??

We have a Kane 30ft Tridem. It’s OK but wouldn’t buy another Kane, the quality’s not there.
Neighbor just had a new Philip Watkins and it looks very good.
Larrington also make them.
What's up with the kane ?

We went to look at 1 locally that's been well worked and was pretty rusty but looked well enough built .

A friend had someone's Watkins on last week and said it was fairly rusty the lad has only had it 9 months max but he doesn't know if it was bought new or not so could be older than we think

Strap / chain boxes have no lid and fill up with straw very quickly.
The floor is going rotten already.
The small ramps aren’t strong enough for a 4t digger and bend.
The hose routing is very poor - they chafed on the chassis
The lights / wiring are awful and don’t stick to the standard colours. I ripped all ours off and put an entire new system on.
The sprung drawbar ride is very poor compared to our other trailers.
Air brakes don’t have in line filters.

It’s just a ‘budget’ trailer with a premium reputation for some reason.

With the price tag they're asking they're not what I'd call a budget trailer now !!
