I admit, I have a workshop tool addiction :-)

I've had interest in the workshop press (lot 19)
I don't know how many tonnes it's rated at but have taken a pic of the pump plate,
The ram is 35mm diameter, the pump is high pressure - 700 bar
There's a leak (odd drip) at the quick release coupling at bottom hose
Hope this helps

I don't have great experiences with cheapo ratchet spanners, or any cheapo ratchet for that matter. I am thinking of threating myself on a gecore ratchet set but they are €110 for a 5 piece set (8,10, 13, 17, 19 mm).
Anyone would like to share experiences on good rathet spanners with curved ends (switchable ratchet)? The Gedore red is far cheaper but if the red version is only gedore in name then I might aswell go with a non name brand.

Just seen a Milwaukee 15 piece set for £229 🙈 I’ll give the silverline ones a chance, they have a lifetime warranty so what’s to lose

A lifetime warrenty as in: yeah it's life ended alright. :D
Witnessed an exchange between a Facom sales rep and. farmer who complained that the spanner bent. When the sales rep pushed him to admit how long the pipe was to generate leverage the farmer admitted 2.5m. Thats fine the rep said, warranty covers to 3m and gave him a new spanner without blinking.

Had me crying from laughter.

Almost certainly a repeat of a post waaay back, but for me the best new bit of kit I have bought this year was the battery impact wrench, followed by a set of Sealey Pro Tool impact sockets. The windy gun has been retired.

The only issue is not being able to set torque, espeically if I am working on something with steel into alloy fittings. Just say NO! So I use the battery screwdriver instead, which allows torque to be adjusted ;)

I have an old 1/2 &1/4 inch Carolus socket set. Was before they went red but it is an awesome set and I wouldn’t hesitate to get another if they’re still of the same quality.
Also have a full set of xl spanner’s and double open ended spanners 6-34mm. Cost a bit but can’t go wrong.

My experience is that I will only buy ratchet spanners with reversible cranked ends. The flat flip over or flexible ends styles are okay, just no as nice to use imho.

I would also try to avoid spanners that are elliptical in cross section, just for comfort.

I have a set of cheap set branded us pro tools that are still doing me well after 16 years, but treated myself to a facom 24mm recently as it seemed to be the best one I could find for a fair price. Hopefully it won't go missing, which can be the downside on farms of paying more for quality tools.

Well, just think of the pleasure it will give to a successor 30 years down the line, finding it in a freshly ploughed field. Still shining (maybe)

We may have acquired a few tools that way. I guess its good karma to restock the earth for the next generation. I wouldn't mind if previous generations hadn't left so much "fencing" for me to find. The angle iron posts the war ag used are remarkably tough and old hurdles seems to love being found by hedge trimmers.
I found a set of molegrips that I had lost 5 years previously, a few days in diesel and was working fine again.... ;)
