I don't have great experiences with cheapo ratchet spanners, or any cheapo ratchet for that matter. I am thinking of threating myself on a gecore ratchet set but they are €110 for a 5 piece set (8,10, 13, 17, 19 mm).
Anyone would like to share experiences on good rathet spanners with curved ends (switchable ratchet)? The Gedore red is far cheaper but if the red version is only gedore in name then I might aswell go with a non name brand.
I use the britool expert ones but also have a set of Haforfs expert ones which are still going strong. The Britool 24mm ratchet spanner gets a lot of work

While searching for a couple of replacement spanners stumbled across this and thought it was too good a deal to turn down, £52 for 8-24mm flexi end
Thanks for the tip i ordered a set last night (y)
Ordered a set of these as well which I've just opened and and am quite pleased with them. Not used them yet will hopefully be a while till I need to but the old worn mismatch don't quite fit or open/close the wrong way to what you want ones in a drawer I've got were bloody hopeless when I've tried using them on various things this summer 🤦‍♂️
(Everything broke down this year as you can see on the what did you work on today thread)

Just hired a mixer for a couple days. I wasn't overly upset about the cost but would probably look to buy one next summer for conveinience.

Whats the risk on a 2nd hand one? Or am I better off new?

What sort of mixer?

If a Panmixer get a new one, the gearboxes can wear quite quickly and cost over half the new cost of the whole thing.

Sons birthday next week and he asked for a socket set after helping me fix stuff all this summer. It's only his third birthday so got him this little set off ebay to put in his toolbox (yes he has a toolbox of his own full of Whitworth spanners and mismatched screwdrivers)
Was only £11 quite impressed with it. There was a bigger set that came with with long sockets and lots of different extensions for a few extra £ should have got him that but had already bought this when I saw that one 🤦 think I'll get the bigger set for myself

I don't know about using it but the toolbox I made up out of old misfit spanners and screwdrivers has been one of his favourite things he's had. He wanted the socket set to go in his toolbox so thought it was much better than more plastic junk. He's spent a lot of time with me fixing things this summer (have a look at the what you working in today thread lots of stuff broke down) and has played a lot with his tools and not lost any sockets yet so it was a good buy.
He's fixing his baler right now not sure why he is filing the drawbar though.

My lads 6 and been the same for a few years, he did come to grief last year when he took the bolts out the front axle of his battery John deere and set off with it, I got the call for recovery, there was a trail of wheels, axles and pins from the shed to the garden
