yes .Quite why someone would want to relish and wait for the chance to say ' told you so'is as an adult is beyond me.

yes there's a worry about huge things atm but getting your own back type, spitefull type attitude is more of a childish , bitter or the need to get something more sustaining in their life,
and who would want people to starve anyway? just to be right about something .🤪

How about being a bit more upfront, if your in the Nfu get them to be more upfront(y)

I was talking to a friend about the looming food shortage, most people I talk to seem to think I’m just talking crap and it would never happen, I explained how it could happen extremely easily and when we do run short it’s too late and it won’t be a quick fix
Most people’s then see what I mean and say good it’s about time food was expensive, let them starve!
Which I see the angle, however i don’t wish death to fellow men for the sake of money!

You've completely missed the point.

Read the post again.

There are people in the world that are short of food now.
I certainly wouldn't want to be feeding cardboard to sheep, nor riding on a load of iron ore across the Sahara.
In Iraq they were selling land because they were losing money growing wheat and barley.
If "Life at 50 degrees" is on iPlayer I'd recommend watching it.

The world's population is growing and we will need more food. Re-wilding and planting trees on good land isn't going to help the situation.

Are Boris's trade deals a good thing & we really on imports of food ?
I don't think so, we're already seeing what's happening when we rely on imported gas and imported electricity.

Our government comes up with barmy ideas about farming which achieve nothing whilst China and India continue to pollute the world.

Do they not now but in a different way.

Local estate was encouraged and paid to plant trees and culm measures (wet grassland, and I mean wet) circa 1950s.

In last 5 years this has been clear felled to put it back to as it was for wildlife. Now we see large tracts of similar land being planted to trees....

Sounds like the Ooslum bird, which flies backwards in every decreasing circles until it flies up its own ar$e!

I have an area of water meadows on the farm. Various people decided that the was a pot of government/eu money available that they would like to get their hands on for whatever reason.

The plan was to put the river back to what it was like before the meadows were created at least 500 years ago. I asked the question what was it like back then. The answer “we don’t know “ it was just consultants and that interested party’s after the money. Fortunately my landlord agreed with me and it’s not going to happen.

The point being Cop26 is no different to a small chalk stream in Wiltshire. It’s always the money 1st.
