If I employed a shepherd

If I employed a shepherd and it was his weekend off we would have had a hell of a falling out today,
3 struck ewes, 2 with mastitis, 2 dead ewes, 2 dead lambs and bunch of ewe hoggs out because the electric wasn't working, all before I went off shearing this morning!
No problems all week an they all come on the same morning, so its good job I do the job myself isn't it?:ROFLMAO:

Sh1t happens mate, glad it’s not just me that it happens to though!! Always the way when you’ve got other things to be doing, the joys of working with stock!! Done three with grubs myself today, got the wool off half of them an the rest is coming off this week, they’re glad for it too! Surprised how well the ewes look after the sh!t winter we’ve had!! Keep your pecker up, your not alone in the sh1t storm

I’m not bothered by any of it really, it’s more that I would have had a go at someone if they where meant to be doing job. Pub now so all will be forgot in 10 mins!

Sure if you employed a good shepherd he would of been just as annoyed that all those things happened as well…

And a shepherd has two hard tasks. First, to come across a disaster. Second, to break the bad news to the Boss - unless he can sweep it under the carpet.

Looking after someone else's stock (or Children) carries much more responsibility or worry than looking after your own.

This is the first thing you’ve said that has a large amount of truth in it!

Try standing next to the boss; having to tell him that his apprentice is on the phone and he’s just run over a lamb... but hasn’t got the balls to ring and tell him! 🤦‍♂️
... goes down like a cold cup of sick 😂
