Well things seem to have gone tits up at the Limousin society since the Ballinloan affair. From what I can gather the chief executive Iain Kerr has been dismissed, other staff have left and four members of the council have resigned in protest. Yesterday I had an email from a group of breeders calling themselves Future Limousin trying to organize an EGM to oust the chairman and the rest of the council. Apparently they're backed up by nine former society chairmen.

Is he definately going?

I'd heard Iain has been on garden leave for some weeks.

I'd heard he'd been offered 9 months salary as a leaving present, but that the new limousin team were wanting to have an EGM to oust the current council and keep Iain on.

I'd also heard that Iain might end up in court as some members want him personally held to account for his actions.

Did you get the email? It's not clear what's happened. I've been talking to a former council member who says that a group of breeders who've used a lot of Jaegerbomb are thinking of taking the society to court if they don't get money from the breeder.

quite right to, and hope they get damages, breed societies should be squeaky clean, lets hope it's a good result, because us ordinary farmers need to be able to buy with confidence, that is why there are breed societies, to produce good bulls for commercial farmers, not for pretty rossettes . It's fraud.

Can believe it, and for what?? Phone the office and the girls couldn't be more miserable and unhelpful!
Took me weeks to get hold of him, kept fobbing me off, turned out he was next door to the lady I was speaking to. I didn't get anywhere and pretty much given up on them since then.

I bet it's going to be ordinary members who end up paying for it all through increased fees.

And there lies half the problem, that’s a hell of a wage for a reasonably simple job

There seemed to be a gang of them based in Stoneleigh. Breed Secretaries became CEOs. Wages went up and up. In reality they are running organisations with less turnover than a high street office or shop.

I once rang the AA Society about grading up Red Angus . The girl who answered was so snooty, I didn't persue it

I think the AA and Limousin suffer from so many registrations, they almost breed their own arrogance

I seem to remember the same happening with a British Friesian bull (N.Mr Frosty?) whose progeny were way ahead of their contemporaries. Turned out he was by one of those awful Holstein bulls iirc.
Bought a young jersey bull once he was bred from gannon who turned out to have a bit of holstein bull had a cert but parts of his parentage was missing from cert .
