Why do folk import cattle? Youl end up bringing some disease in to this country
Nothing that isn't already endemic in this country.
Our European counterparts are laughing at us for our failure in controlling BVD and TB.
That's probably because there's idiots importing cattle in!
Why do folk import cattle? Youl end up bringing some disease in to this country
Something funny??
What? Beats me why folk would think of importing cattle
Why wouldn't they when they can get Hi health quality cattle at a sensible price?
Because they risk importing disease!
Knock on effect for neighbouring farms ect
What disease exactly are you on about? My cows never go out so not much chance of my cows given any one else something they haven't already got
I'm a beef Farmer so slightly different to you boys!
What happens if you import something in and it spreads through all your cows?
Mainly because too many UK herds are still riddled with BVD, IBR, lepto, Johnes (all controllable) and (not their fault) TB. Some European countries are officially free of many of these. Why do folk import cattle? Youl end up bringing some disease in to this country
Johnes was imported from Holland many years ago.
We are an island we should have high health status. We kick off about meats coming in and F and M but dairy cows are fine.
There are diseases on the continent that we do not have in the UK yet.
Yes we are an island and "SHOULD" be hi health but were not. Really cant see the problem if i want too import TB free cattle to North Devon??? My cows never leave the buildings so if i do bring in a new disease i cant see how its going to affect anyone else? Each to there own???
