Maybe your vet is not enjoying having their work scrutinsed on a public forum.I don't feel i can. The vet seems to be in denial and isnt offering anything more than meds.

Without going into things in detail i think i have reasonable cause to doubt the care the vet has provided this heifer to-date.Maybe your vet is not enjoying having their work scrutinsed on a public forum.
Would another vet pracice deal with this? Would they be happy to step in on another vets job?2nd opinion required from a neighbouring practice.
I understand but my point is that if you ask 5 different vets from 5 different areas of the UK you would get 5 different answers on how to perform and manage a cesarean and none of them would be wrong!Without going into things in detail i think i have reasonable cause to doubt the care the vet has provided this heifer to-date.
What does JFDI mean?? Sorry im not forum terminology wise. [emoji4]If the cow is on ABs and you accept advice to lance it with a bog standard knife or pair of scissors. Well, I have to say JFDI. It's cost you a fortune to date so I understand your reluctant to jeopardise the outcome by makng a mistake. However, what is the worst that can happen and how might it differ from doing nothing?
I disagree. This calf already owes a lot of money and the wound, well it's a fairly normal result from a Cesar. Learn and maybe change your vet next time.2nd opinion required from a neighbouring practice.
Just f*****g do itWhat does JFDI mean?? Sorry im not forum terminology wise. [emoji4]
Where the animals welfare is at risk and I was not confident in the job done by the current vet, I wouldn't hesitate.Would another vet pracice deal with this? Would they be happy to step in on another vets job?
I know my heifer's health was jeopardised during the procedure. Im just not sure what to do for the best. I dont like seeing a rugby ball sized swelling and knowing its full of fluid and hot.Where the animals welfare is at risk and I was not confident in the job done by the current vet, I wouldn't hesitate.
Yes but i don't want another vet from same practice. If i seek a 2nd opinion it would need to be with another practice.Everyone has a right to a second opinion.
Dont think so?Before you lance it, could it be a hernia?
Sounds like that could be the plan.I would drain it, give it a day then decide.
Keep her on pen strep until you are 100% happy with herThank you. Tomorrow will see the end of my pen and strep bottle. If you think it would be better for her to continue with pen and strep il get her to leave me out 2 bottles instead.
