International 434 oil pressure

Novice here! I’ve got an International 434 which I’ve been using with a topper. I’ve noticed that after a couple of hours use the oil pressure light will glow faintly.

If I disengage the PTO and take it for a drive with the revs up the light will go out but if I lower the revs it’ll glow up again? Checking the levels the oil is at the max so doesn’t appear to be losing anything (but the viscosity of the oil looks quite thin).

Is this usual or should I be looking to fit a new oil pump?

When did you last change the oil and filter and what oil did you use are the first questions
I bought it in Oct last year from Bartletts of Winchester and he’d stripped the engine and replaced the head gasket before selling to me. I’m not sure when it last had an oil change?

Hang on a minute. Certainly the x74 tractors don't have an engine oil pressure light - there's a gauge. The behaviour you describe sounds very like the transmission pressure. Is there a gear on the light?

Flickering transmission light not uncommon.

I'm less familiar with a 434 - is it a reskinned McCormick?

Put an oil pressure gauge on and check it ,10 W 30 oil is pretty thin really 15w40 or straight, 30 it may be just a dodgy pressure sender switch with a bit of luck.
