It has its place and purpose in this world and working there certainly has some perks (not only remuneration wise). However, I promised to myself that I will be honest with myself about what makes me most happy, and 2017 has been the year when I was more proud about the courgettes I grew than all the fancy and sophisticated stuff I do for work. Only if farming was possible part time.

It is. I ran our place part time for 15+ years until I got fed up of the public sector. You just need a bit of land within sensible distance.
