Introduce Yourself

Hello all,
I've been crawling about TFF for a while and thought it was time to join the party.

Run 230 NC mule ewes- hopefully this will grow, lambing to Charollais tups in April (first time I have lambed my own sheep). All a bit of a learning curve! Arable is contracted out to the neighbours. We also run a vineyard operation as a separate enterprise.

I also do relief milking at weekends and work for a manufacturer of dairy farm products as the day job. On top of that I spend far too much time on YFC and everything that entails.

Looking forward to getting involved in the forum!

Wow I thought I was busy!

Hi there Frank here from Asbestos Surveys and Removals of Lowestoft. You may be wondering why I have joined the farming forum. The answer is to help you with your asbestos needs. We here at ASR understand theres a lot of confusion and problems with the identifacation and removal of asbestos. So what better way than to drop us an email or a phone call and we will be more than happy to help. We are based in Suffolk but dont let that stop you giving us a ring what ever your location for some free advice to arrange a survey or for anything you may be unsure with. We have a 24 hr hotline for those out of hours emergencys to. I thank you for giving me the chance to say hi and I look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Hi all

I don't farm as such, but I am looking to get a bit of land in the near future - I'd like to grow trees on it (for nature benefits and also to feed a wood burner!) and I'm also a fan of chainsaws, tractors, 4x4s and most things mechanical - just wish I was any good at the mechanical bits! I'd also like to grow more fruit and veg, maybe keep chickens or pigs in time. Might even go full smallholding, time / job etc. permitting... Oh, and I also do a bit of shooting - mainly clay pigeon and targets. :)
