Just a thought. The unit on the shed, is the shed cladding steel.? Have heard reports steel cladding can upset ( tech term ) signal

Yes, it is for one bridge. It could well be that this is part of the issue.

The other bridge runs from the house to an old stone barn so no metal cladding there at all.

I did originally think it was tree/hedge related because a tree and a hedge were in the line of sight, but both have since been trimmed out the way. I also think the weather might be having an impact but I cannot prove this one way or another yet.

I’ll probably end up getting the professionals out to take a look at it at some stage when time allows.

BIG TIME!!

I now have an external mag mount wifi antenna* on the end of a long cable, on top of the new metal clad and roofed barn. Mounted low down, it was a dreadful signal, very jittery and washes in and out.

£15 off ebay.

Got to say, probably not your issue, but I have found 5ghz to be less reliable than 2.5ghz in anything other than with direct line of sight.
2.4Ghz goes further than 5Ghz.

It's at lower speeds but should be fine for 1080p video.

Also, use UDP instead of TCP for IP cams if possible, it may help with live video over that distance.

More info here:

I've added an image with TCP Vs UDP comparison.
