Resistance might become an issue.
did have that show up with a product. used down south a few others in area were having same probs changed to a diffrent chemical group and had no problem after that
moved up here and used older product again and had no worries with it
I would say if having to re dip check out if applied right and if so maybe change chemical
if product is working but length of time not covering season look at other things like shearing time or some other changes that might help cut down some problems

cyromazine was the active in the product we were using for fly control but were not getting much length of control so changed to another chemical and were getting alot longer. fly control
most here using IGRs for fly and lice than the op's

There's only OP dip available in the UK, and cover against blowfly is no longer than the slaughter withdrawal period (if your lucky) of 7 weeks. :(

I'm dipping again as on of my sheep had flystrike so I dipped her but I was thinking of dipping again as she scratched the wool to the skin were she was affected.

in your'e humble opinion :giggle:, you will get 8 to 10 weeks cover if you dip them properly by which i mean plunge dip,not shower or jetter as you were doing when you found it to be not giving you the cover,if people don't use the product correctly they can't state it 's not working

Lol. It used to last 10-12 weeks however it was applied, then it started lasting around 7-8 weeks for some strange reason. Chemical weaker perhaps?

Plenty of folks having sheep plunge dipped are saying the same.;) There are also plenty that don’t see flystrike until July too, all farms are different.
If anyone has a decent length of fly season, dipping once won’t cover them, and twice is getting expensive.

No arguments about dipping being best for established scab though.

it worries me that people are not getting at least 8 weeks cover from plunge dipping it would lead me to suspect the top up rate is incorrect or something else is happening,i'm not worried from a fly point of view but if scab is present and not been treated correctly resistance will become an issue then we will be in a muddle,op is our last chance !!!!

I'd scratch hard after flystrike. I'd also want a dab of Spot On, or an appropriate squirt of Clikzin, with some soothing ointment on the sore areas. Not dipping.
