Barley still up thankfully, despite three quarters of an inch over night. We've had a very unsettled fortnight.

Well you know hard ground and heavy rain - it just runs away. You need steady drizzly rain, the type that creeps up on you and you end up soaked without realising!

We've had plenty of that over the past couple of weeks. I'm amazed the ground is still so dry.

Had a good shower here tonight ,,stopped now but think its back for tomorrow

  18. May have had an inch, could do with a couple more to actually soak the ground.

Went to have a look at the swedes two days ago and even though we have had bits of rain I could pick up a clod of soil and crumble it to dust in my hand.(n)

Less please. Wet February and march here, average April and a good may, but now it needs to calm down and give us some dry days too! I'll be looking next week dry for second cut.
