Is there any difference between cambridge roller rings?

Evening all...!

Cambridge ring rollers, some are relatively flat, with a fairly shallow ridge along the middle of each ring, where as other have a pronounced, deeper ridge.

Horses for courses, I'm sure, but which ones (if any...) do you prefer, and why?

I've never thought about it as just borrow/hire the contractor's.

But if given the choice I'd go shallow ridges, as use for rolling in grass/clover/herbal mixes on sandy soils, don't want the small seeds going too deep.

Large seeds i.e. cereals it probably doesn't matter, or deeper ridges may be advantageous.

Just my tuppence.

They seem to stay cleaner when they are worn a little.

The idea of Mr Cambridge was to cut clods and firm the ground in a way that wouldn't form a surface pan in the rain.

Big, sharp ridges are best, sadly they don't stay that way for very long.
