Is this Ragwort?

Hi. Sorry for what is a basic question. I am very new to owning land and learning how to manage it.

We recently purchased some land, including a horse paddock. The paddock had about and acre of yellow flowers in one corner when we viewed it. I suspect it's ragwort, but not entirely sure and struggling to match the plants to any photos online, in particular the leaves look like a very different shape to the pictures i find.

Would anyone be able to confirm?

Thank you!

Doesn't look like it to me. Easily checked though, next year, pull it and see if the roots are red/pinkish then it is ragwort. There are a couple plants that can be mistaken for it

I am fairly confident that in the picture isn't ragwort, type of yellow daisy perhaps.

Thanks for the comments.

I've been out there pulling it all up today and the roots are very long and white. No sign of red.

Google Lens was sending me in all kinds of directions unfortunately, nothing conclusive.

Would make my Christmas to know i dont have to spend it bend double pulling this all up! haha

Waste of time pulling ragwort at this time of year anyway, I'd say. Plenty of information on ragwort control on the web, but I think you need to be selective in what you read and believe.

Not ragwort. Do the seed heads attach to anything they come in contact with?

The seed heads don’t attach to anything.

Having studied photos, I think Bernardbean is right with fleabane.

thanks a lot! I’ll plan on cutting it down in spring and spraying any new growth then.

thanks again.
