The 4220 has the old fendt gearbox not the same one a 720/722 & 724 it is a 718 box in a 4220, big software difference from fendt to jcb as well
Don’t hear of many Jcb having transmission problems where fendt you do. Around the 10000hr mark depending on driversI was told this also agco don't allow the transmission in the fastrac to to run at same pressure as it does in a Fendt. Which makes fastrac not as good.
Apparently the pressure can be altered and it makes a difference to the fastrac.
We are getting a 722 demo early February if we have work for it. Be interesting to try it.
We were like you thought about a fastrac to do all them job , but wheel grip in poor conditions spreading slurry let it down a lot, cab & its set out is a long way behind the fendt so was the gearbox, big down side was the second hand value of the fastrac & the warranty & reliability , this was 3 years ago or so they make have got better but I think we did the right thing buying a 724 not a 4220
something has stopped me a few time changing from fendt to Jcb but it always think maybe next time. I do a fair bit of road work. And roads are getting worseWe were like you thought about a fastrac to do all them job , but wheel grip in poor conditions spreading slurry let it down a lot, cab & its set out is a long way behind the fendt so was the gearbox, big down side was the second hand value of the fastrac & the warranty & reliability , this was 3 years ago or so they make have got better but I think we did the right thing buying a 724 not a 4220
