The hydraulics won't work until it has been running for about 10 seconds, is fine after that, assume oil is drawing back somehow while it is standing it won't even work headstock locking pins, steering is fine from start up, it's just the boom hydraulics lift etc, got no leaks anywhere externally

Is it a problem? And could it be the electrics waking up?

Is there a vacuum in the hydraulic tank?
The cap should breath air in but has a valve to keep air pressure back in. So tank is always under slight pressure normally and this will keep oil pushed up to the pump all the time.

If a top spec model you may have a pilot control system for the joystick that requires oil before it will work anything. There will be a small filter for the pilot circuit normally so could be blocked or it could be the pilot charge valve or the accumulator failed taking time to charge back up or maybe has a small leak back to tank on pilot circuit which is quite common on a manitou but often goes unnoticed as people dont recognise the unusual symptom that happens with a manitou.

Sorted, yes there was vacuum in tank, big whoosh when I took the cap off, hydraulics now instant, thanks
