We run JCB and actually think compared to a volvo or a hitachi they are the best at grading. We don't have these huge problems people talk of.................
Which one is that then? Grease nipples on slew ring and inspection plate on slew gears but never seen one for gearbox? Hope I haven’t been missing onemake sure the hard to find grease nipple on the bottom of the slew gearbox is used
my lad has had the job of slieving the bearing houseing after the bearing had collapsed on several machines

I have a 2007 js145 and there is a nipple on it. Dipstick on top of slew motor for oil lubricated top bearing and remove plate below slew motor to reveal bottom bearing grease nipple. This nipple is not on a 2006 machine, just earlier ones

You seem to have bit grudge against plant operators or someone who has worked in building/construction who might just have a bit of knowledge about 360s, I am not saying jcb is rubbish, on this forum there many who own a js series and are happy, but I seen some that are shagged with 8/000 hours and in construction that's poor for machine to have faults with those hours on in this day and age.Really. Almost every post on this page is from people who own them and or run them. Obviously their opinions pale into insignificance compared to Bob the chainsmoking shakey bucket.
Actually that’s not fair to Bob, he’s entitled to his opinions but at least it is HIS opinion isn’t it.
Personally I think the JS 130, especially the older 145 sized digger with Isuzu engine and Kawasaki pump offer outstanding bang for buck, fast, nice Hydraulics and reliable too.
Would you agree farmers buy them because there cheap ?Really. Almost every post on this page is from people who own them and or run them. Obviously their opinions pale into insignificance compared to Bob the chainsmoking shakey bucket.

Doh!
Quoting what you heard from whoever was yabbering at you last is not a sound basis for YOU to form an opinion - surely you know this.
In this case a digger driver who told you JCB has deteriorated in quality over the previous 25 years.
If that’s his opinion then fine, he is entitled to it - I said as much if you read my post. However.
Have you been plant operator for 25 years?
Have you bought a 360?
Have you paid for a 360?
Have you maintained a 360?
Have you compared the running costs like for like from one machine to another and considering purchase price vs likely repairs or depreciation made a decision/took a gamble and then followed through and bought said machine?
A machine shagged with 8000 hours. And have faults. Oh Lawd Jesus Say it’s not so.
Just what point are you making, in comparison to what?
Here is Salma Hayek. She is 52 years old, and my isn’t she in great order.

I have definitely seen 52 year olds in worse condition. Infact I have seen 35 year olds in worse condition. You could say she has been well MAINTAINED
She is certainly wearing her hours well, and I certainly would not use the term you did earlier to describe her appearance in her presence.
Do your homework I guess some plant machines firms will have been servicing on the button I would think. As you say though majority will have been hammered by inexperienced operators.Biggest problem with this size machine is operators.most 13/14 to machines are run by plant hire fleets and go out on self drive where no one gives a sh!t about them and they get regularly abused.try to buy of an owner operator and you will be fine
