Hi guys
Considering a 6130 r would like to go auto power handy for diet feeder
But have been offered auto quad versions
Will be buying a one or two year old 1000/1500 hrs
Is the extra in price for auto power worth spending on this siize tractor
Other Deere’s I have are auto quad
Fendt is vairo
So I know the da plus and minus of driving styles

What else will it do and is money a consideration? ( I guess not if you’re going for an R)
Autopower might not be dearer on a secondhand one so worth having. Cheaper ways to feed cows though if that’s it’s main job.

Our dealer said autopower would not increase the value of a used 6130 so we went for the autoquad so they must be a good value second hand as puts 7k on a new one.

Just an update on 6130 r
Went new auto power premium spec with jd loader front links etc
Local jd dealer got his finger out off his ass
As for cheaper ways to feed cows
Please explain
Why feed two cows when one good one will do !!

I think @kiwi pom is suggesting that a cheaper tractor (zetor) or a barrow and fork would be cheaper than a top spec 6130r but I’m with you

You said you want a tractor to go on a feeder wagon, you've bought a top spec expensive tractor to do it, seems an expensive option when a lower spec (maybe 2nd hand) would do the same job, cheaper.
That's all I meant, this forum is usually full of people saying how little money there is in the job.

Will do other work than diet feeder out off interest

What do you mean? Feeding 1 cow instead of 2?

Hi guys
Ya will be pulling a 3000 l trailed sprayer
Might be on 2500 gallon slurry tank depending on other tractors available
Will do a bit off mowing with a center pull 3.2 m
Ted out 500 acres of grass
Haul in straw
A bit off dump trailer work
But do most off it’s hrs on feeder
Previous feeder tractors were
Jd 6420s with loader traded it in at 7600 hrs on original tyres
Jd 6430 with loader traded at 5500 hrs
Both never failed to complete feeding every day
700 hd off dairy stock
Is it not better to run new get ur reliability v good trade in value
Cheap way to feed cows in my eyes

As I do 99% of the feeding and all spraying i am off the option that farming is a tough enough so I like my tractors and handlers to have a decent level of spec to take some off the misery out of the 7 days a wk

Nothing wrong with that if the business can afford it.
