Hi all
As above i have a 6610 with 38" rear and 28" front rims. I have 460/85r38 rear tyres fitted. all the info i can find online refers to 26" rims on this model.
Can anyone give me the correct tyre size for the front please.
Thanks

You are welcome. You have a tractor worth say £15k you are going to put £1k of tyres on the front and you don’t want to spend £30 on a manual? As said above there’s a formula and you need to know diff and axle ratios, no one can tell you on line without that information. But hey it’s your choice.

He was asking, I replied. For the reasons I gave I think it was a fair answer, jd are pretty good for getting manuals. I now see he’s from France which may complicate things if he is English so perhaps you or someone could photograph the pages from the manual and put them on here? I could of course have said go 380/85 24 or whatever is fine cos that’s what mine has but it’s not that simple and he really needs the manual and the information on axle ratios etc.

Wr you need to know diff and axle ratios ,end of , to many combinations ,and tyres that maybe same size but different rolling radius , alters the lead , if he is on 28.s they will be probably 14-9s , So he could put 16=9/24 on ,but the magic ratios are needed

I have asked questions on this forum in the past and have been very grateful for help and good advice from fellow forum members.
I will scan relevant pages in the morning and pm to @Seth 2

Thanks for replies, I was just hoping someone would say « oh yes I have these tyres on mine ». I have also asked the tyre manufacturer. As I said, I’m on 28’’ front rims and most information is on 24s. Thanks.

18.4 x 38 usually pairs with 13.6x28

Thanks. I understand that much. But the aspect ratio?? I have 85s on the rear and was just going to put 85s on the front. Then i started to think about it and the more i read the more confused i became. This was the reason for my question. I assumed that the same aspect ratio was all i needed.

Look at the blue chart above. If you find out that you need 13.6 28 then that's the same as 340 85 38. 85 is standard aspect ratio, the % of the profile above the rim wall. Low profile is anything less but wider, low profile tyres can still be a match for 13.6 28. follow the chart across to find sizes that are equivalent.
the chart explains all once you've found out what matches on your tractor.

520 /70 /38 & 380/70/28 is a good/nice size for fhis tractor and will fit original rims and it won't alter height or speed nor affect ratio
