I’m currently looking at a John Deere 6910 with auto power, has anyone had trouble with this gearbox on theses early models or would power quad be a safer option. Thanks

I buckraked for a season many years ago with a 6910 power quad was SOME machine ok I've got green and yellow blood but it was some outfitThe youngest 6000 series is gunna be 20 years of age now. Unless you find a mothered / refurbished / treasured model, or want a project, or particularly like heartache - I'd avoid. Don;t get me wrong; they're an absolutely bosting tractor in powrquad flavour but buy with your eyes wide open !
I have a 6910 autopowr. My advice to everyone contemplating one: don't.
The 10 and 20 series autopowr all break down. Just as a happy reminder, the autopowr unit will set you back 17k without labour, if the unit isn't totally shagged you get a refund of about 5k.

Anything is fixable, until it isn't. And note the phrase "most of the bits".But u can fix them. Most of the bits are available through deutz fahr as they use the same tranny
