Hi all,

We've recently bought a 7530 premium on 6k hours, when I test drove it at Sharmans I commented how rough/rattling the engine was on start up and idling and was told that's just how they are, rep said to let it idle for 5 mins before/after use.

Anyway, today been carting 10t muck trailer about and it's first time it's been used properly and when pushed hard up hill it the rattling is quite noticable.. just sounds rough! Is this how they are? Have saw they are a very popular tractor on here so figure someone will say yep that's it and I'll stop being paranoid!

We have a 6910 and on that the engine is smooth as you like even loaded.. obviously much lower hp.

Derv Doctor can sort that diesel knock they make easily enuff its to do with EGR setup on them
Great unique sounding engines otherwise & good once remapped & silly Turbo changed to normal ones.
He actually can’t.
He done my old 6430 and went like an animal afterwards but start up knock was still there and it could stall itself odd times on cold days but it never hurt it as that’s how they are. Just start and leave to run as they literally will frighten the pants off you if you don’t let them warm up

They are generally rough sounding on start up but do calm down when warmed up. My 7530 used to have an annoying rattle/vibration at certain revs until I discovered it was the loose pop rivets on the exhaust guard causing it!

I know they are very popular in areas but the few 7530 my local dealer sold all busted the engine around 4000hr was very costly fix!! A super tractor to work though as i was given them for few days after rebuild to work them and make sure they were ok. Would definitely consider one if I knew that problem was sorted?

Its possible it May have had replacement injectors that haven't had their calibrations logged in the ecu, but as said the 75's are more rattlier than lower models due to the bigger injectors. Ask them to come check it over, and ensure its running a factory calibration not a nasty remap. ( derv dr it after ! )

Thanks for replies, appreciated. Seems consensus is "it's just how they are". Got a leak on the PTO seal that will get dealer to fix, so might ask them to plug computer in and check everything is as should be (should have done this anyway in yard before selling??).

It does pull like an absolute beast, didn't even notice 10t on back going up decent hills so wondered if had been chipped/remapped, our neighbour had one he reconned was 250hp..

Hello, I have a John Deere 7530, I was wondering if the storage box on the left side of the driver has cooling, mine doesn't?

Only if it was spec’d. Fridge is lined in white plastic and has a little on/off rocker switch next to it. Otherwise it’s just normal ambient storage
