what engine temperature should R-series tractors run at in moderate to high work loads?

towing 14 t trailer up hill, temp goes to 103-104 degrees, then back to 99-100

screens and rads clean.

The newer xx5 series do run alot hotter than the previous xx0 R's. (90c ish ) due to now running ad blue to clean up the exhaust. Thermal efficiency is much greater with a higher operating temp. That said, no one knows how components and the hg will stand it long term, and you have a much narrower safety window should temps start to climb. There is a deafening alarm and severe limp mode at around 120c I believe .

That’s normal, I have a 6155r and it’s normal working temp is around 95 or hard pulling it’ll be 100ish any hotter and I know I need to be blowing rad out or cleaning the screens

Got a Deere engine in new sprayer and this one runs at 95 -105 when working hard/ flat out on road ,drops to 85-90 while actually spraying. Thats around 10-15 higher than previous 6 yo machine .
Does nt seem right to me but have checked and everybody says its normal.

Waking this topic, is there a way to lower these temps ?
JD 8360R blew damn head gasket and I dont like to see it work on 92-93°, sometimes 96-97°, rarely over 100° but coolant will boil on 103°, probably not when under the pressure since 1 bar is max but I dont see any advantages to run it on 100° ?

EGR and DPF are deleted.

The engine temperature will be set by the thermostats so if they will fit get some thermostats from an older model, if I remember right there’s 3.

So guys did you have some issues with high temperatures on 6155r trough this year's?
Mine is 2021 bought it few months ago.
Same high temperatures 95-102°C.
Working mainly on 1800-1900rpm.

That’s normal operating temperature range I’ve found. Hard work 105 if it’s higher then radiators need cleaning out.

As said, 105c is about as hot as you want to run them as standard - the ecu targets a fairly high running temp for efficiency but that gives you very little headroom for a hot day or partially plugged radiator.

Derv Dr's remap brings them down to 90-95c which has got to be better long term.

Correct about the remap temperature range , but I'm told 😉 you must keep the intercooler spotless or will have warnings of exhaust temperature to hot during regens if working flat-out.
