You wouldn't want to leave it unattended though, the jack would be gone in no time at all.

Jack could easily be welded in or made detachable for safe storage. If detachable it could be handy if you had a puncture.
Problem would be moving detached trailer with no swivelling wheel.

I would not move a loaded one but do occasionally move mine about by hand in my shed,luckily with a concrete floor

Inclined to agree with this. Always found the screw Jack perfectly adequate

If you can't raise the hitch by turning the handle you have either got far too much noseweight, or someone has bent the jockeywheel by driving off without raising it. Can't see that this offers a solution to either issue, plus as others have said it makes it impossible to move trailer around by hand. When I had my double wheel trailer we always used to wind up the jockey wheel to take the weight off the front wheels so we could move it about by hand and store it away tight up to the side of the shed, couldn't do that with this arrangement.

Looks like it is designed for use after someone has just loaded far too much nose weight on the trailer.

Why redistribute the load sensibly when you could throw money at a symptom?

glad i asked now but nobody has actually used one so no further forward

looks as strong as the clamp that locks the jockey wheel in position which can slip and is the weak point, so can,t see it been great
