Hi there, recently bought a 6410 premium 1999. Since i got it the left hand indicator has always came on with the sidelight and stays on with them no blinks. Now the sidelights and indicator have started coming on sometimes with the brakelght and now come on everytime the brake is applied.
Have disconnected plug from rear light and am still getting power to all 3 terminals when unplugged to must be rest of harness ag fault. Any help for usual places the wires rub etc would be much appreciated before i go tearing it to bits.

Check the wires to the trailer light socket first.

Have redone the trailer socket and wires there are all fine. Harness goes away under cab and cant seem to see much. Is there a plug at the end where it joins onto a main harness?
Should go to a plug on the transmission harness just under the back of the cab, check the it’s not shorting in the plug.

worth checking the multi point earth on the battery is clean as well. Check all the fuses are ok as well. The indicators and brake lights run through the bcu controller so don’t rule out a faulty controller but the symptoms you describe aren’t common for a controller issue.

Under the rear fenders there’s some steel box that the wires run through to the tail lights. The side bends down to access the cables, could be worth checking in there for any signs of corrosion.

thanks very much for the help. Also one of the fuses with the symbol lightning bolt when i have a working fuse inserted the sidelights come on with the ignition even with switch off. When fuse removed they work as normal but with indicators and brakes.

:scratchhead: That’s the main Ignition fuse, 30amp if I remember right? You shouldn’t get anything coming on if that’s removed, shouldn’t even start!
I think you may need to get someone with a wiring diagram to have a look over it, sounds like someone has been doing a spot of hot-wiring 🤦‍♂️

thanks very much for the help Phil, very much appreciated. Chaffed/broken wires has solved all light issues and the main ignition fuse problem with sidelight on with ignition. All working as should now👍🏻
