John Deere 6520 won’t move forward or backwards

Hello,
As stated in the title, we’re having problems getting the 6520 to move forwards or backwards. A solenoid underneath was recently replaced by the dealerships mechanics and it seemed to work temporarily but then quickly stopped working again once he had left. I’m also getting an error message for the PTO sensor but the PTO seems to be working fine at the moment.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you

Now Then..
Have a look in the EPC controller to see if there are any codes. The method for this and the error code list is in the operators manual which should be behind the seat..

We’ve come up with a code. It’s Blue BCU 302124.31. The manual says this is a fault in the electrical circuit in the alternator relay.

Only the one code?? That's in the BCU. Was there nothing in the EPC??
Ignition on, hold the 'roll mode' switch down until 'DIA' appears on screen.
Hazard on - off.
Using indicator stalk scroll to 'ALL'
Hazard on - off.
Scroll to EPC,
Hazard on - off
You should see error codes or 'No codes'
If there are codes, scroll through with indicator stalk and write them down, then delete and see what comes back, eh
.

Sorry about that, I did it incorrectly the first time. I’ve done it again following your instructions and it came back with blue EPC 306034.31 - Enable proportional solenoid valve opened by mistake.

Is that the only code??
The colour is irrelevant, where are you getting the colour from, light on dash or book??
As I said, scroll through the codes, it will say 'Delete codes' at end, Hazard on - off will delete them. It will then say 'No codes'.
Try to drive and see what comes back

It is yeah, we’ve scrolled and it is the only code. We’ve deleted that code, then tried to move and it’s shown these 2 messages on the dashboard. I’ll also put a picture of the dashboard before deleting

I’ve just realised I’ve posted the same picture twice. One message referred to the PTO sensor being defective.

I've tested the alternator / battery system and the battery is charging.

Looked again for error messages and I'm getting 2 :

1)Device : EPC
Address : 001
SPN : 306034
FMI : 31 active
OC : 001

2) 186
2 BCU
Rear PTO speed sensor defective

Would a defective PTO speed sensor stop the tractor from being driven forward or backwards ? It's not making sense to me.

EPC 306034.31. Enable Proportional solenoid valve is opened by mistake.
This can be caused by a sticking proportional valve (the one just replaced (£260.00 plus fitting)??).. Or, a faulty enable pressure switch.
Other causes can be in the wiring.
The wiring around the rear r/h pillar can give problems but not usually with those codes.
The PTO sensor isn't your problem, however, it may be connected. I'd have to look at the wiring diagram which isn't with me just right now..
Have you invited your dealers man back??

Just to let you know, the issue has been fixed. We decided to disconnect the PTO sensor and it works fine now. Thank you for information, you’ve been a big help

I have code 302124.31
(Fault in alternator relay)
Does anyone know where this is?

I also have code
186.02 rear PTO speed sensor faulty.

it does not have a rear PTO set any ideas?

these codes are both active

Call the dealer back. If there's something that techs hate the most is random people having a fiddle and often creating more problems than they fix.

I would start a new thread. Including the tractor model age and hours etc. Also, what is your actual problem??

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
