I have a old 6610 14000 hrs , reconditioned the injector pump and new injectors a few months ago, but lately she has been slow to start. she starts perfect the first turn, then stalls after 30 seconds and then takes takes a good few turns to fire the second time, i am worried i am going to burn out the starter, and it will get worse as the weather gets colder, there is plenty of diesel coming to the filter, any idea please?

Fuel running back most probably. If not already done start by replacing the fuel pipe from filter back to tank sender unit, is your fuel lift pump in tank or in chassis?

The pump is in the tank and I replaced that during the year, I will try replacing the return pipe as it is the original and looks a bit porous all right thanks .

Ours does that ,keep it full of fuel and no problem , just leave ignition on ,some you have to put in forwards and hold key in start for leccy pump to work ,and see if it starts ok then
Being full doesnt make a difference to my girl and i have tried pushing in the key and pumping up diesel before starting but no difference, still cuts out.
