John Deere tractors with autotrac ready and built in console

Am i right in thinking that John Deere did or still do a range of tractors with built in auto trac ready integrated into the command centre console? reason being is that I have recently upgraded my itc receiver to a sf6000 unit and now have this going spare. I am also having to consider buying a second tractor and would be swayed if i knew that there are machines out there which would allow me to plug this receiver in to get guidance for no additional spend. Probably thinking something around 125-180hp.

Great so no need for a greenstar monitor like the 2630 I bought. If so ideal news and makes buying another John Deere a lot more appealing. Have been very impressed with the greenstar system although obviously comes at a cost.

Not sure about the r's but our rt isn't touch screen and we run auto trac through it. As others have said it will need the activation.

I stand corrected then. Has it always been this way? Seem to remember when I spec’d our 2013 6150R we had to have touch screen for autotrac.

This is a 2015 model so maybe things have changed..... Not used it myself yet but it works ok apparently......

Our 6190r is autotrac and not touch screen. It's nowhere near as handy as the other two with touch screen and you feel a right numpty when you haven't been in it for a while and wonder why it wont work when you press the screen! (n):shifty:

Was just wondering if you can make any tractor autotrac ready/ drive itself. I have a John Deere 6900 and want to put greenstar on it. Can you make it autotrac ready if so how?

We run one of these on our sands sprayer.

Yes, with an atu kit you can pretty much make anything autotrac, doesn’t even need to be a Deere. I run one on my older Jd tractor, also on a bateman and lexion. Have a couple of steering motors to save having to swap them around at busy times.
I’ve found it plenty accurate enough for everything from the corn drill to precision drilling beet.

So, a 6145 r would only need a dome and activation fee to get autosteer?
Since it's a Saturday and I can't ask anyone else what is that likely to cost please?

If the pricing is similar to here, it will be about £3500 for a new sf6000 dome and activation key from a dealer. It is possible that the activation is cheaper for a mounted monitor, my tractors are too old for that, so i have only bought for removeable monitors.

Do I Need a Starfire Receiver then? If yes how do I make my 6900 Greenstar Ready?

A greenstar ready tractor just means it has a wiring loom fitted to plug a receiver and a screen into, not necessarily make it steer!

If you want to make it steer, you’ll need a starfire receiver (3000 or 6000) an atu300 (steering motor) a display with an autotrac universal activation and finally a wiring loom. There’s a number of displays available depending on your budget, also there’s a number of wiring looms available depending on what else you want it to do.
If it’s just autotrac then a universal loom will do, if you want isobus it’s a more expensive bigger loom.
The looms can be hidden behind panels etc or the universal loom can just plug into a fag lighter socket and run out the window and across the floor then you can swap between machines.
There’s also integrated autotrac kits available which plumb into the hydraulics, again it will depend on your budget.
