john deere turbo, new actuator or reman turbo?

the turbo actuator on my 6115M, ~3800 hours, just crapped it's pants, probably some gear inside is broken, as it sticks in one position. On the turbine side the linkage moves easily. I can get a new actuator and new linkage (current one is a bit worn) for ~1000 Eur + VAT or a reman complete turbo for ~2000 euro.
My concern is about the turbine reliability, if i buy only the actuator now and the turbo will fail in the next year or two, i will have to shell out another 2000 euro because i cannot get the turbo without the actuator. Do i go cheap now and risk another big bill in the future or buy the whole lot and keep the turbo as a spare?

P. S. due to my location, can't have it doctored, don't know any good tuners/remappers around.

just had a reman turbo and actuator on my 6125r. 3500 hrs and 7 years old. The actuator wouldnt calibrate itself and dealer wasnt keen on just replacing the actuator on its own due to potential wear in the turbo so bit the bullet and replaced them both.

Having suspected actuator trouble with my 6150r what’s the best thing to do to sort it? I’m based in Ireland. Tractor is coming under pressure every few seconds when under load

There is nothing cheap about a VGT unit.

If your handy with the spanners and intend to keep the tractor a good while - have the Derv Dr VGT / EGR delete kit
If you want a very fast fix, call the dealer.

A really rough remap then! Yes dd works in ireland.
It was done before I bought it so don’t know who done it. My tractor already has the updated manifold so was obviously fixed before at some stage. Im surprised someone hasn’t figured a cost effective way to fix the problem it seems extremely common I but 15000hrs on my 6620 before reconditioning the turbo it cost €540 to rebuild
