Usually the peddles are a pretty good sign of how much work a machine has done, if the tread pattern has worn off it’s done quite a bit of work. You can usually tell by the general condition though, how much play there is in the lift arms, draft link, hook ends etc.
However a good test drive is as good a check as anything, if it’s got 3k/h on the clock but feels like everything is loose and rattling when you go down the road chances are it’s more like 13k
Bit hard to tell really ,,you can get a 20 yr old tractor thats been barn stored for years and only have 2-3000 hrs on and then a 3 years old might have twice that .
Ive seen lots of adverts for tractors ,,hours unknown ,clock stopped working at X hours ,X many years ago but still runs as it should ,if the owner doesnt know how many more its done ,a new buyer hasnt got a hope .
