Kale stems

What is the nutritional value of kale stems ? I can find info on kale as a whole, but not the difference between leaves and stem.
Is it similar to turnip bulbs or just belly fill. I've got some lambs on some ex-game cover kale the leaves have gone and they are eating the stems in preference to hay , they also have access to wheat volunteers.

The marrow in the middle of the stem is very nutritous. Like eating a sugar cube

there's some figures somewhere but cant remember where. wont be as good as turnip its ok though and if they are eating it that's half the battle, not bad keep for this time of year .

depends on what variety youve got there of course

course theyll need a bit more protein depending on what your e doing with them thats why strip grazing is the best thing to do like all brassicas

Some bunches will graze the stem right down too a nub, then the next bunch will take the crown out and not touch the rest of it no matter how much I make them have it.
