What does everyone do with cows that continually kick when being milked? Before everyone replies it will be the flies fault , this is a common problem here all round year not just Summer. Any suggestions most welcome as to how to how to fix the issue

Home bred or purchased? 1 or a few or a lot?
If 1 then I hear £3.10 is being offered.
a few/a lot they may just be tender/tight or pressure to high for them? What sort of rate of mastitis are you at?

Stray voltage and the herdsmen and the way they handle cattle may well be relevant answers. Then there's the breeding. Some breeds and some sire lines are jumpier and more aggressive than others. I find Holstein cattle in general to be far more pleasant and placid animals to work with than British Friesians and Jerseys. In fact they are so quiet in the shed and parlour these days that it's a hell of a job to get them to move sometimes. Mind you, my cows are spoilt and a high proportion will approach to be made a fuss of.

Home bred. About 8% kicking. Mastitis has been worse this year than usual ...about 10%.
