Kubota

The big 6 litre four pot will like a sip, that’s no trade secret.

Kubota history is IDI small engines and its only in recent years that they’ve ventured into “proper” DI units and HPCR is a relatively new thing for them, relative to their manufacturing history and knowledge of IDI engines.

So they certainly won’t be as anywhere near the leading benchmark of an FPT or Deutz unit but better than a DPS unit.

They'd need to be very good deals to be in the running as far as I'm concerned.
Have driven a couple this past year or two and find them horrible things.
They were 2005 models, but unless the newer ones gave come a long way they'd need to be at an absolute bargain basement price.
They’ve moved on a long way in that time. Their TTV vario is a fair tool and pleasant to drive too

Not meaning to offend anyone, but I'd take a lot of convincing on them. A neighbour has them and he's had a belly full of trouble. But he keeps buying them because they are cheap and a move elsewhere will cost him quite a bit of money.

The local Deutz dealer also does Kubota, so I'm not sure how much longer Kubota will allow them to do both.
Assuming Kubota can offer a range of bigger heavier tractors soon.

Talk is there will be a Kubota range running up to 300hp in the next two or three years.

Think the real unknown is the residual value , they have only recently entered the AG market and the first sales have yet to come full circle, from what I have seen of them they have so far fallen short against the competition in build quality and ergonomics and this must have a knock on effect on residuals .
I think they will spend their way into the market but it will take a sea change for them
to be accepted as a first choice AG machine
People do tend to stick to what they know, if they want a lawnmower or a compact Kubota is first on the list but it’s well down the first draw for an AG machine .
Time will tell but I have noticed a distinct drop in chat about Kubota in the last 6 months the initial surge of interest seems to be waining.
There has been lots of chat about John Deere being “ worried “ by Kubota but as far as I can see they only need to be worried about their financial clout as the product is well short as yet .

We had a play in one during maize, so it sat on a trailer usually pulled by a green tractor with red wheels.... it used a lot more diesel to say the least. The cab fittings, could be more refined, you can actually turn the big screen off whilst you drive, who knows why. the radio sat behind you so you'd knock it into different radio stations, or static. And the kvt gear box made a lot of strange noises. Can't say we were impressed

Kubota say they are determined to crack the 200hp+ tractor market some day.

Second hand? I would be concerned about the price of parts. If their anything like the price of bits for those kubota rtv? Buggys. So much to be said for going for a high selling mainstream model, where a lot of parts are available from the aftermarket suppliers. There doesn't seem to be much aftermarket parts available for the ZF transaxle, whether fitted in a red, blue ,green or orange tractor!
It would be interseting if the price of parts for lets say a pto clutch pack, and the complete brake kit ,including the pistons or pressure plates that can get scored , could be compared for a 150 ish hp Kubota, and the other common tractors.
