Kuhn GMD24 mower blocking up

Hi,

I've got a kuhn gmd 24 mower this year. Hog it brand new. Just lately its started blocking up for some reason, you go along fine them it pulls the tractor down and you notice it's hardly cutting and you have to reverse and start again. It was grand early on when crops were lighter but now I'm in thick old hay grass its started. It does something similar when your soing last run and sometimes it bulldozes cut grass and blocks the discs up. Is it just one of those things or has anyone else had any experience with it? I tightened belts a little and blades are fairly good. Was going about 12kmh but any quicker seemed to cause it to happen, surely I'm not pushing it on to hard really??!
Thanks

You're going too fast. I've a NH mower which is the 1980's equivalent of yours. Cut very heavy, thick grass for hay last week and the grass would only flow through it cutting one direction because of the way the grass was lying. Turned to come back up the field and it constantly blocked until I dropped the ground speed considerably.Probably needed to lengthen the top link a bit too to cut down the bed angle.
Presumably,if you got it brand new this year, the end discs' top hats are still intact?

run an older smaller version here, gdm44, would be partial to the same carry on in heavy crops, only steer I can give u is on a closing run make sure outside top hat disk is always cutting, hold the inside disks over previously cut grass if needs be, they never seem to bulldoze (might be different on larger mower tho!)
